Dear All Potential Mrs. Delaware United States Contestants:
I encourage all of you to participate in one of the most rewarding journeys I have ever had! My year as Mrs. Delaware United States 2010 has been nothing less than a once in a lifetime incredible experience! It has been a year of personal growth, memorable experiences, exciting opportunities, and a lot of fun. I have lived in Delaware all of my life and to be able to represent the married women in my homes state has been an honor that I will never forget. This experience has taught me that with focus, perseverance, and a lot of hard work that it’s possible to reach your goals no matter what your obstacles are. It has empowered me to become a spokesperson and a role model for a cause that I am truly passionate about. It has introduced me to amazing women from all over the state whom I have both learned from and formed lasting bonds with. It has given me the opportunity to work with a director that is dedicated, compassionate, and truly cares about her contestants. It has also been such a fun year! I was able to throw out a pitch at a Blue Rocks game, be interviewed on the radio and have my picture taken with the “Build a Bear” mascot. I participated in parades and got to wear fabulous clothes in many fashion shows. My journey has taught my two boys some important lessons as well. They witnessed their mom setting a goal for herself and through tons of practice, sweat, and determination exceed that goal. It has taught them that you can be a mommy, have a career, help in the community and wear a crown too! My husband has been my biggest supporter throughout my reign and my journey has definitely strengthened our bond. There have been so many memories throughout my reign that I will cherish and someday share with my grandchildren. I encourage you to embark on your own journey to becoming Mrs. Delaware United States 2011. It is an adventure that you will never forget! Good Luck to all of you!
Ellen England, Mrs. Delaware United States 2010
