Mrs. New Castle County gets dunked for Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition's "Sink for Pink" Fundraiser

This weekend, I participated in the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s “Sink for Pink” event. This was part of a special Cinco de Mayo fundraiser, held at the Mexican Post. There were raffles, great Mexican food, salsa lessons, and a prize wheel and the proceeds benefited the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. WSTW radio also broadcasted live from the event.

“Sink for Pink” was a dunk tank where people had an opportunity to dunk some of Delaware’s favorites, including yours truly! This was my first time ever in a dunk tank, and I have to say I was scared! The weather wasn’t cooperating well and it was a bit chilly. Thank goodness for the Mexican Post for providing warm water for the dunk tank! When it was time for me to get in the dunk tank my heart was beating rapidly and the anticipation of getting dunked is the worst! But, it wasn’t so bad after I got dunked a couple of times! And of course, all of the proceeds went to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, which provides outreach, education and support services to facilitate early detection and treatment of breast cancer, so I was happy to volunteer my time and get dunked!

Thank you to the Mexican Post for your hospitality and to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition for inviting me to be part of this great fundraiser!

Still looking cute, even though I am drenched! :)
