Mrs. Peach Blossom Runs in a 5K to Fight Malaria

On May 5th I participated in a 5K run to help fight Malaria.  This was my first 5K race since the Mud Run several years ago, but it was amazing to help raise funds for such a worthy cause.  The race was sponsored by  “Imagine No Malaria”- a United Methodist Church organization that provides mosquito nets, education, and infrastructure assistance to needy areas in Africa.

Every 60 seconds, malaria claims a life in Africa. Millions of lives, needlessly lost each year. Entire nations…slipping away. Slipping through life’s precious net. As a result of the efforts of the Methodist Church and the many volunteers, I along with some of my other pageant sisters helped to fight this deadly disease and had an awesome time doing so.

My wonderful husband, Micah can in 3rd place in the men's division and I was 5th in the women's division.
