I met Paula via the Internet after she wrote a feature story about me and my pageant platform, Blended and Blessed. Shortly after, she invited me to appear on her show and discuss step parenting, pageantry and balancing it all!

One thing that Paula and I have in common is that we're often asked why our mission of providing step family support is so important.  Oftentimes, people who are in traditional families don't realize the differences or the struggles that biological and step parents have once they marry and create a blended family or remarry.  In my journey through pageantry, I've met so many women who are step moms with wonderful stories to share about their ups and downs, triumphs and struggles and ah-ha moments as a step mothers.  I believe that some of the things that children face in step families are similar to what children in traditional families face, but there are some extreme differences that make providing support so necessary.
