Beauty Queens Take Over Wal-Mart in Middletown for Operation Christmas

On Saturday, December 17th several pageant sisters from Crowns of Inspiration and the Mrs. Delaware United States Pageant System came together to support M.O.T. Operation Christmas Wish, an organization started by Bunker Hill Elementary Teacher Alisha Gravatt and her father Jim, who wanted to do something to help families in need in the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend.

This year, over 30 families needed adopting and the residents of Middletown, Townsend and Odessa really came out and showed their support. It was great to see Wal-Mart shoppers choosing to adopt entire families instead of just picking one or two children to purchase gifts for.

One lady told us that she’s been adopting a family every week since the beginning of this holiday season and plans to keep doing this until Christmas! Being able to do our part by helping to man the registration tables and taking photos with customers was small in comparison to what the community did to help those families in need.

Thanks to the M.O.T. Operation Christmas Wish team, WDSD Radio, the local Boy Scouts and Middletown Wal-Mart for hosting this event!
