My Tuesday was exciting because I got to go to my daughter’s school (Townsend Early Childhood Center [TECC]) and to the Broadmeadow Rehabilitation Facility in Middletown to spend some time just spreading holiday cheer with Ms. Peach Blossom and Miss Delmarva Ambassador.
I knew the day would be special, but I didn’t realize how touched I would be at the number of smiles and laughs we got from students and the cherished elderly residents of Broadmeadow.
The students at TECC made the most wonderful gingerbread houses (thanks to the dedicated moms and dads who assisted) and they helped us to read stories…The Night Before Christmas and The Gingerbread Cowboy.
The highlight of our day was going to Broadmeadow and hearing so many of the nurses and staff members say that they saw smiles on people’s faces that haven’t smiled in a long time. We talked and laughed and just really got to hear some great stories from the residents…some told us about their careers as journalists and nurses and others just talked about how wonderful their own families are and the things they’re looking forward to this holiday season.
To cap off a great day I created a pageant version of the night before Christmas…enjoy the video.
