Whole Foods Promotional Booth for the Haxton Family Trust Fundraiser

Krav for a Cause: A Fundraiser for the Haxton Family Trust
I had a great opportunity this weekend to promote the fundraiser we are coordinating for The Haxton Family Trust. My husband and I decided we wanted to do something to benefit the Haxton girls, whose parents were tragically affected by a car accident on Christmas Eve 2010. We put together “Krav for a Cause- A fundraiser for the Haxton Family Trust”. It is going to be on Saturday, April 14 and include children’s martial arts workshops, adult self-protection (Krav Maga-Israeli Self-Protection that uses no nonsense techniques and gives you a GREAT workout) and a women’s self-defense class with a special guest instructor. We are also SUPER excited to announce that Preston from WMMR’s Preston and Steve Morning Show will be joining us for the 9am Krav Maga Introduction Class. We are so excited that he can join us and thankful for his support.  I am excited to help coordinate this event that will benefit a great family and coincides with my platform, “Stay Aware, Stay Safe”.

Putting together a fundraiser is no easy task. There is a lot of planning, networking, and promoting to do to make it successful. I was very fortunate to get in touch with the manager at the Whole Foods in Glen Mills, PA (which is 5 minutes away from Premier Martial Arts-the location of the fundraiser), who was touched by the Haxton family’s story and wanted to support the fundraiser. They allowed us to set up a promotional booth this weekend to pass out fliers and get the word out to customers. Thank you so much Whole Foods for the opportunity and the support; it really means a lot! And thank you to all the volunteers this weekend for donating your time to help promote this event!

Please consider attending this fundraiser! You will not only be contributing to a great cause, but will learn useful skills, get a great workout, and have fun! We have events for all ages and it doesn’t matter if you have experience, are coordinated, or are in shape…we welcome everyone to come try it! I especially encourage ALL women to attend the Women’s Self-Defense class with guest instructor, Athena Clarkin. She is a phenomenal instructor, and in these uncertain times it is so important for women to have some understanding of self-defense and awareness strategies.  Please visit our facebook page, “Krav for a Cause” or call 610-459-1933 for more information or to sign up. Thanks again for all of your support and we look forward to seeing you there!

*Special thank you to my State Director, Siouxzan Moore for assisting us with coordinating this fundraiser and for making the flyers for the event*

Until next time,
Melissa Kirk
