The Ladies Auxiliary, Children's Miracle Network and More...

When it comes to supporting charitable causes, I couldn’t be happier to lend a helping hand, but tonight, I was the one that was blessed by being offered an opportunity to serve. The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars hosted a gala and auction to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). Micah, I and my director (and pageant queen) Siouxzan Moore sold raffle tickets, mingled with corporate sponsors and most of all helped to raise money for a great cause.
For almost 30 years, CMN has helped to raise almost 4.3 billion dollars to help children and their families as they fight childhood afflictions ranging from difficulties with asthma to birth defects and cancer.  This storied organization helps to provide comfort, treatment and hope to millions of sick children each year.

I have to say, that Micah was a huge hit, as the raffle tickets were being sold based on the length of his arm or by his height! Everyone got a kick out of taking pictures with my Mr. Delaware and it made giving all the more fun.

The highlight of our evening was strategically navigating our way down to the race track. We watched the parade of NASCAR tractor trailers as they drove in with the cars for the actual races. We even got to see the staging area and even met NASCAR Truck Series Driver Jason White. I’ve never been to a NASCAR event, but I’m planning on putting a NASCAR weekend on my bucket list! The energy behind the scenes alone was enough to make me a far.

I’m so glad that The Ladies Auxiliary invited us to be a part of their event and send a special thank you to Dawn McDowell for all of her hard work.
